Sanskrit Hrid Basti (Uro basti) is similar to UroBasti (Uro = chest, Basti = retaining something inside). Hence, a heart oil bath is called Hrid Basti, the combination of Hridaya, the heart, and Basti, the vessel. As an Ayurvedic treatment for heart problems, hot oil preparations are poured over the heart area or fresh herbal decoctions are poured over it. A trimarma (three vital areas) comprises three areas of the body: the heart, middle of the sternum and four fingers (anguli pramana). The Best Uro Basti Treatment is in Rishikesh for this type of therapy.
A medicated oil or herbal decoction, or medicated ghee, is applied to the heart region according to the condition.
The following are conditions where Uro Vasti can be highly beneficial -
Chronic cough with little or no phlegm, accompanied by chest and throat pain, producing heavy sounds, such as whooping cough, bronchitis, smokers' cough, allergic cough, seasonal cough, particularly cough exacerbated by consumption of tobacco and alcohol. When chronic and stubborn conditions persist despite medication and don't respond to treatment, in people with reduced respiratory immunity and in those with recurrent cough, Uro Vasti is preferred. Anaemia, malnutrition, and other chronic illnesses should be excluded from the list of possible causes of dyspnoea.
